| Railay Rock climbing in Brief information |
Railay beach consists of two bay joined at the headland on the West and the East respectively. The west Railay is a narrow beach with surrounding mangrove ecosystem and cliffs suitable for rock climbing. The turquoise water and long beach are highly popular amongst holiday makers for sunbathing and swimming.
How ever the highlight of Railay bay is the Rock climbing adventure tour.

This course is for everyone who love challenge its 4 hours course. The climbing area is just a five-minute walk from the office. First, all trainers are fitted out with a climbing harness and shoes. The instructor demonstration how to use the equipments. The instructor then climbs the route as lead climber and fixes a rope through an anchor (safety point). Now it’s the student turn to climb (top rope) which means the rope is above the person is very safe. So if you need to rest or let go of the rock the student will 'fall' a maximum distance of only 20cm. On our half-day course students experience climbs from 10 to 27 meters high. |

This course is set up to train students all the necessary techniques and safety maneuvers in climbing a sports route (fixed protection) safely. This particular area has some very easy climbs, that enable us to train students to: Lead climb (the person who sets up the rope); Multi–pitch climbing (to climb to a great height using fixed protection and anchors provided); Abseiling (lowering down from an anchor to the ground). We also teach all the necessary knots used in rock climbing, what to do in certain situations emergency what to do if an anchor doesn’t open at the top of the climb, all the safety procedures and how to get back to the ground safely. |
